Well where do I start, maybe the top hat security that greeted us at the Brewery, 52 Chiswell Street or the champagne reception? It doesn’t really matter as it was fantastic from start to finish, apart from actually winning an award!
A few friends had told us about these events but we were literally blown away with how organised and professional everything was.
Sitting down and hearing our host for the evening Neil Fox from Magic was perfect as Ben Lawrence, Director of Quality Drainage Company is a big fan and has his breakfast morning show on every day in the van. Dr Fox was professional as ever and was kind enough to have his photo taken with us and best of all said he would give us a shout out in the morning, which he did (check out our Facebook and Twitter pages for proof)!
Dinner was a yummy 3 course meal, service could not be faulted, constantly topped up on drinks and checking if we needed anything else. To end the dinner and get our attention for the winners to be announced was a sticking band, not any old band but one to stop everyone talking and be fixated that you could have heard a pin drop.
Each category was announced and the judges then presented the winners, each judge said how hard it was to pick the winner and talking to a lot of people that night I can see that each and every finalist was hard working, driven to be the best and committed to customer service, so I can imagine that judging was hard. One thing we did win was a Renaldo signed shirt in the silent auction with all proceeds going to charity which we were very chuffed about but think our son Dylan was even more impressed!
Awards are an important part for businesses and we are lucky enough to have won Most Loved Drainage Company in Bromley and Croydon two years running and we thought we could play with the big boys and enter the London Business Awards and was very honoured to be picked as a finalist, I think I am right in saying it was 300 companies that entered and so to be in the top 20 we were immensely proud. I think awards shows customers, especially in our field, that we are hardworking professionals here to stay to grow and develop our brand and become market leaders so we will definitely be entering into the next one…question is, will you?
